If your father has a service connected rating or is retired military, he may be eligible for a HISA Grant. Check with the VA in Muskogee.

I worked in HUD Housing for few years, and yes there are different programs out there that may help you in your situation.  Specifically, Section 8 Rental Assistance (Housing Choice Voucher Program) and there's Public Housing.  IF you are already in the Section 8* HCV Program, and your income has decreased, and expenses increased...then you definately need to go to your office immediately, and have them recalculate your Tenant Portion of your rent.

Otherwise, you can visit the HUD website to locate the specific programs in your area here:

http://www.hud.gov/progdesc/pihindx.cfm

You can also visit my website Resourceful Living

*Scroll down to about the center of the page...there you will find more Housing/Rental Assistance links under the heading  Housing/Rental Assistance:

Hi brother,

nice to view your wonderful website.

I am Gabriel, a voluntary medical social worker for handicapped here in India.

I have a orthopaedically handicapped family person, namely Mr.Ramesh, who is working as a taxi driver, light vehicle.

He is having a 3 cents house site and he wanted to construct a house in it.

He is got 2000 u.s dollars loan sanctioned by goverment, but still he needs, ten thousand U.S. dollars to finish his house for his wife and children.

Like other discouraged handicapped,he never sat at home.

He worked hard ,learned driving and adventerous and he proved as roll model to other fellow handicapped persons that they should adapt to some income generating things and live as respectable citizens in the society

In this connection I am sincerely requesting you on his behalf,it there any foundation on this globe, which will give him a help of thousand u.s dollars to have his house completed.

I will send all the buidling plan,on CAD, house plan, and all the desired documents.

thanking you

yours in the service of the disabled

Gabriel

my husband and i are both veterns and need a home loan.  our monthly income is only 1109.00 which basically qualifys us for nothing.  we would like to live in florida but in a more rural environment.  between his many health problems, the constant sirens and road noise his panic attacks are becoming worse.  my husband is a marine who served two tours in viet nam, he was shot twice and what did not bother him at 20 (ha) has magified at 55.  i am not sure how to buy a house much less who would lend us money to purchase one.  if i could recieve so guidance on who to contact i would appreciate any information or help.  thank you

I am currently receiving a non-service connected diasbility pension, and the place I am renting(+ the utilities) takes more than 3/4 of my monthly check.  Is there some sort of public or private housing assistance program and/or funding available for persons in my situation?  Thank you. You may contact me at unclejesse52@yahoo.com
